Clio Lloyd-Jacob and Noor Ali Chagani

Clio Lloyd-Jacob and Noor Ali Chagani share an interest in rapid cultural change and how art, artefacts and built structures enable these shifts across generations. Since 2024, they have collaborated to explore these ideas in sculpture and installation. Reframing and transforming historical fragments, their work draws on Persian, Mughal, and contemporary miniature traditions to condense time and space for the viewer, albeit at a larger scale. Issues of
power and other conditions influencing the international flow of ideas and materials are explored within their collaboration.

Clay brick has long been central to Chagani’s practice, where it carries layered meanings of home, belonging, possession, dreams, security, and family. In collaboration, he and Lloyd-Jacob push visual form to speak across differences and reveal pressing current themes.
